A high-growth technology business is building out the next generation of its data, AI, and platform infrastructure, and is hiring a senior engineer to help shape it. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves solving complex backend challenges, improving systems at scale, and working across engineering disciplines.

The Opportunity
 
You’ll sit at the intersection of backend engineering, machine learning enablement, and DevOps. Your work will power customer-facing products, internal analytics, and emerging AI capabilities. If you enjoy building reliable systems, creating clean data pathways, and supporting production-quality AI workflows, you’ll be in your element here.
 
What You’ll Own

• Designing and refining backend APIs that feed customer dashboards and internal tooling
• Establishing a robust CI/CD environment and championing strong DevOps practices
• Shipping features and services within a GCP and Postgres-based environment
• Collaborating with frontend, backend, and data engineers to deliver scalable services in Java/Kotlin
• Supporting ML workflows, from model training to deployment and monitoring
• Working closely with business, design, and operational teams to build high-quality, scalable products
• Ensuring systems meet high standards for data quality, security, and governance
• Helping shape the long-term architecture for data and AI infrastructure

What You Bring

• 2+ years of backend engineering experience with complex APIs or data-heavy systems
• Strong background with Google Cloud (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases; ideally strong Postgres experience
• Proficiency with Java or Kotlin, plus experience connecting backend services to modern data stacks
• Comfort working with ML pipelines and cloud-based model deployment (Python or similar)
• Solid understanding of privacy, security, and governance principles

Bonus Strengths

• Experience with conversational AI or agent-based systems
• Exposure to regulated sectors such as healthcare or insurance
• Previous work in a startup or scaling tech environment
