Role Summary
We're seeking an experienced Linux Technician to support the development, deployment, and hardening of Linux systems within a secure Defence environment. You'll work across infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance, automation, and mission readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and maintain Linux OS within Defence ICT environments
- Integrate software and implement security hardening practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux SOE/application issues
- Automate system configurations and document SOPs
- Evaluate new technologies for Defence ICT use
- Previous experience working as a Linux Technician within Defence projects
- Proficient with Linux systems, particularly RHEL 7.x to 9.x, in hyper-converged and distributed environments
- Demonstrated expertise with:
- Ansible
- GITLab
- YUM
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical domains
- Familiarity with SEA2273 Minerva systems
- Deep understanding of the Australian Information Security Manual (ISM)
- Experience implementing zero-trust architecture principles
- Knowledge of ADF deployed environments and associated ICT/security constraints
