We’re looking for a Head of Robotics — a senior technologist who’s ready to lead the charge in robotic system interoperability and fleet integration.
This is more than an engineering role — it’s a chance to shape the future of robotics from the ground up.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading the design and deployment of scalable, modular software connecting mobile robots, IoT devices, and enterprise systems
- Driving innovation in robotic fleet orchestration and interoperability
- Integrating multiple commercial platforms (KUKA, OTTO, etc.) in collaboration with key vendors
- Representing the company at deployments, demos, webinars, and technical workshops
- Mentoring a growing team of engineers and helping shape a strong technical culture
- Working closely with the founding team to align product and technical strategy
- Strong Python expertise and hands-on experience with ROS2, Docker, REST APIs, and low-latency comms protocols
- Proven background in robotic fleet managers and multi-platform integrations
- Experience architecting complex robotics systems in real-world environments (preferably in manufacturing or logistics)
- Ability to move between high-level architecture and on-the-ground deployments
- A collaborative, business-aware mindset with a passion for innovation
- MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with industrial IoT tooling (PLCs, OPC UA, Kepware, SCADA)
- Exposure to industrial automation environments
- Contributions to open-source robotics projects or close familiarity with cutting-edge trends
- This is an on-site role based in Detroit, MI — relocation required
- ~25% travel for client visits, on-site support, and demos
- Must have US work authorization
